PlasmaSource — Animated Plasma Visualizer for OBS
A downloadable tool
PlasmaSource is an animated plasma-style background for your stream — drop it into OBS as a Browser Source and you're live in under a minute. No installer, no dependencies, no account. It's a single HTML file that runs entirely in your browser/OBS.
Why streamers use it
- Instant background or overlay. Use it full-screen behind your webcam, or turn on transparent mode and lay a translucent color wash over your gameplay capture.
- 11 built-in palettes — from clean neon to deep, moody "void" tones — switchable live without restarting OBS.
- Feather-light on your GPU. It's one WebGL shader, not a video file or particle sim — runs comfortably alongside your game and encoder.
- Zero setup friction. Open the settings panel (press S), pick a look, and you're done. Your settings are remembered automatically.
- Fully offline. No network calls, no telemetry, no phoning home — everything runs locally in the browser tab.
Features
- 11 palettes: acid, warm, cool, dark, neon, mono, sunset, toxic, ice, rose, void
- Adjustable speed (0.1×–3.0×) and opacity
- Transparent-background overlay mode — composite over gameplay or webcam
- One-click "copy OBS browser-source URL" with your current look baked in
- Settings persist automatically between sessions
- Optional (advanced) live mood/energy sync via a local JSON endpoint, for anyone running a compatible music/mood server
License
One purchase covers personal and commercial streaming use across all your own scenes and channels. See LICENSE.txt in the download for full terms — short version: stream with it, monetize your stream, don't resell the file itself.

FAQ
Does this need internet access?
No. It runs 100% locally and makes zero network requests by default.
Will it slow down my stream?
No — it's a single lightweight WebGL shader, much cheaper than a looping video background.
Can I use it on multiple scenes or streams?
Yes, one purchase covers all your own use.
Can I customize the colors?
Yes — the palettes are defined near the top of the file's code if you want to create your own. (Redistribution of modified versions isn't permitted — see LICENSE.txt.)
Does it work outside OBS?
Yes, it's just a webpage — open it directly in any browser, or use it as a source in other broadcast software that supports browser/web sources (Streamlabs, vMix, etc. — not officially tested, but it's standard HTML/WebGL).
